Meet special needs sweet girl Friday, aka Frybell. She is a solid, jet-black DSH, born approximately 5-1-18. This baby was flung by her left front leg into traffic when she was only 6 weeks old. It severed some nerves, so she does not have much use of that leg. She came from the injury, right to me, her foster mom, from a couple that found her in the street. It took her almost 24 hours to just blink; she was in total shock.
It has been a long road for this sweet angel. After a couple of months I cried tears of joy when she got up in my lap on her own and purred and let me cradle her while she slept. I could NOT believe it! She will cuddle and purr now regularly, but she has trouble being caught so I let her come to us, her foster family, for love. If she is laying down somewhere and you approach slowly, she will soak up your affection of petting her and talking sweetly to her. She also will follow you to bed at night. When she is really secure, she will sleep on your bed with you. While she does not walk well, she can run like the wind on her three good legs. She also loves the cat toy da bird and she will jump for it.
Due to her mental trauma, she is going to need a lot of patience and love for her to feel secure in her new forever home. She still runs from me, her foster mom, if she thinks I am trying to catch her. She is also at high risk of other cats bullying her, but she very much likes other cats if they are gentle with her. She is used to dogs, but she mostly just acts like the dogs dont exist.
As her foster mom, I am very protective of her. She is now 7 months of age, and I am just now listing her as adoptable. I wanted to work with her as much as I could before even considering finding her a forever home. I feel a home with a lot less pets (we foster a lot) will help her open up like a flower. She needs an adopter who has a kitty halo over their head. Someone who understands what she has been through and is patient and kind. She will bond, it just takes her awhile.
She is available to adopt or foster to adopt. Please see video links to see her in action. She will not be at our Petco adoption events unless you are requesting to meet her. I feel its too stressful for her. If you have any questions feel free to text or call me, Lynnette, at .
Adoption events are held at the Fair Oaks Petco (Madison at Hazel) on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4pm.
